LOVE

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Humble in birth, more humble in death, Jesus Christ came to this world to show what love is. He died for us because of this love. He endured the pain and the wounds because of this love. He braved the threats and attacks of men because of this love. His palms and feet were nailed on the cross, and He struggled to breathe, the torn flesh on his back scraping the rough cross, because He loves.

Yet, the world does not understand love. Humanity has walked the planet treasuring its distorted image. Man and woman cannot grasp it because they do not know Love. What is love? No. Who is Love?

Jesus Christ preached the Gospel of Truth even if He knew that He would face death in the end. He won hearts, healed the broken, showed the way. He was the Lamb for the sacrifice pure as snow, stained only by blood.

He challenged tradition. He confronted lies for He is Truth. He was loved and hated, admired and despised. But through it all, He remained humble and gentle and loving. He had friends. Many of them loved him, but Jesus loved them more--a lot more.

He loved the good and the wicked. He loved everyone. Yet, Love was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver. Love was sold to the cross. Jesus knew all these. He prayed because He was afraid like any ordinary man. He knew that physical and spiritual pain are unbearable. But Love obeyed. He took the challenge and carried the cross He did not own. He carried humanity's burden. He paid for humanity's sins.

The cross towered over the people. Jesus, nailed on that cross, endured to cleanse the world from sin. He was so alone. Many left him because of fear. His friends denied him. Those He loved turned their backs from Him. Yet, Love stayed on the cross. Love died on the cross that we might live.
